Aerosol and boundary-layer interactions and impact on air quality
Zhanqing Li,Zhanqing Li,Jianping Guo,Aijun Ding,Hong Liao,Jianjun Liu,Yele Sun,Tijian Wang,Huiwen Xue,Hongsheng Zhang,Bin Zhu +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the major advances in aerosol measurements, PBL processes and their interactions with each other through complex feedback mechanisms, and highlight the priorities for future studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioaccessibility and health risk of arsenic and heavy metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn and Mn) in TSP and PM2.5 in Nanjing, China
TL;DR: Values of hazard quotient and hazard index indicated the non-carcinogenic risks from the studied metal(loid)s to children via ingestion, dermal contact and inhalation pathways in Nanjing given the present air quality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioaccessibility and health risk of arsenic, mercury and other metals in urban street dusts from a mega-city, Nanjing, China.
TL;DR: Both Hazard Quotient values for single elements and Hazard Index values for all studied elements suggested potential non-carcinogenic health risk to children, but not to adults and SBET-extractable contents of elements were significantly correlated with their total contents and the dust properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ground-based aerosol climatology of China: aerosol optical depths from the China Aerosol Remote Sensing Network (CARSNET) 2002–2013
Huizheng Che,Xiaoye Zhang,Xiangao Xia,Xiangao Xia,Philippe Goloub,Brent N. Holben,Hujia Zhao,Yuhang Wang,Xiaochun Zhang,Hong Wang,Luc Blarel,Bahaiddin Damiri,Rong Zhang,X. Deng,Yan Ma,Tijian Wang,F. Geng,Bing Qi,J. Zhu,Jian Zhen Yu,Quanliang Chen,Gaoquan Shi +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, long-term measurements of aerosol optical depths (AODs) at 440 nm and Angstrom exponents (AE) between 440 and 870 nm made for CARSNET were compiled into a climatology of airborne optical properties for China.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation of sea-land breezes and a discussion of their implications on the transport of air pollution during a multi-day ozone episode in the Pearl River Delta of China
TL;DR: In this paper, a meso-scale model MM5 was used to simulate sea-land breezes and to understand the transport of pollution during a prolonged ozone episode observed in Hong Kong in September 2001.
