Neuropilin 1 is expressed on thymus-derived natural regulatory T cells, but not mucosa-generated induced Foxp3+ T reg cells
Jonathan M. Weiss,Angelina M. Bilate,Michael Gobert,Yi Ding,Maria A. Curotto de Lafaille,Maria A. Curotto de Lafaille,Christopher N. Parkhurst,Huizhong Xiong,Jayashree Dolpady,Alan B. Frey,Maria Grazia Ruocco,Yi Yang,Stefan Floess,Jochen Huehn,Soyoung Oh,Ming O. Li,Rachel E. Niec,Alexander Y. Rudensky,Michael L. Dustin,Dan R. Littman,Juan J. Lafaille +20 more
TL;DR: Neuropilin-1 surface expression discriminates between nT reg cells with stable expression and Nrp1 low iT reg cells showing inducible expression under inflammatory conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Focused specificity of intestinal TH17 cells towards commensal bacterial antigens
Yi Yang,Miriam B. Torchinsky,Michael Gobert,Huizhong Xiong,Mo Xu,Jonathan L. Linehan,Francis Alonzo,Charles Ng,Alessandra Chen,Xiyao Lin,Andrew Sczesnak,Jia-Jun Liao,Victor J. Torres,Marc K. Jenkins,Juan J. Lafaille,Dan R. Littman +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) repertoire of intestinal TH 17 cells in SFB-colonized mice has minimal overlap with that of other intestinal CD4+ T cells and that most TH17 cells, but not other T cells, recognize antigens encoded by SFB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequential class switching is required for the generation of high affinity IgE antibodies
Huizhong Xiong,Jayashree Dolpady,Matthias Wabl,Maria A. Curotto de Lafaille,Juan J. Lafaille +4 more
TL;DR: Generation of anaphylaxis-inducing high affinity IgE requires sequential class switching and this work has shown the importance of knowing the carrier and removal status of the receptors before they are switched on.
Journal ArticleDOI
Innate Immune Defenses Mediated by Two ILC Subsets Are Critical for Protection against Acute Clostridium difficile Infection.
Michael C. Abt,Brittany B. Lewis,Silvia Caballero,Huizhong Xiong,Rebecca A. Carter,Bože Sušac,Lilan Ling,Ingrid Leiner,Eric G. Pamer +8 more
TL;DR: A critical role for ILC1s in defense against C. difficile is demonstrated and protection against infection was restored by transferring ILCs into Ragγc(-/-) mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
PD-L1 expression by dendritic cells is a key regulator of T-cell immunity in cancer
Soyoung Oh,Dai Chen Wu,Jeanne Cheung,Armando Navarro,Huizhong Xiong,Rafael Cubas,Klara Totpal,Henry Chiu,Yan Wu,Laetitia Comps-Agrar,Andrew Leader,Miriam Merad,Merone Roose-Germa,Søren Warming,Minhong Yan,Jeong M. Kim,Sascha Rutz,Ira Mellman +17 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that dendritic cells (DCs) represent a critical source of PD-L1, despite being vastly outnumbered by PD-l1+ macrophages, and this data identifies a unique role for DCs in the PD- L1-PD-1 regulatory axis and has implications for understanding the therapeutic mechanism of checkpoint blockade.
