Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of the 2-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-proprionic acid/kainate antagonist LY293558 on spontaneous and evoked postoperative pain

TL;DR: Previous studies suggest that 2‐amino‐3‐hydroxy‐5‐methyl‐4‐isoxazole‐proprionic acid (AMPA)/kainate antagonists reduce experimentally induced pain and there have been no studies of AMPA/kainates antagonists in clinical pain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Topiramate in trigeminal neuralgia: a randomized, placebo-controlled multiple crossover pilot study

TL;DR: Larger trials are needed to more precisely estimate the effect of topiramate in trigeminal neuralgia, and a multiple crossover design provides more information, which is important in conditions associated with considerable pain fluctuation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of variability in the 7-day baseline pain diary on the assay sensitivity of neuropathic pain randomized clinical trials: an ACTTION study.

TL;DR: The results suggest the possibility that, at least in some disease processes, excluding patients with a highly variable baseline 7‐day diary has the potential to improve the assay sensitivity of these analgesic clinical trials, although reductions of external validity must be considered when increasing the homogeneity of the investigated sample.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gabapentin and Pregabalin for the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain: A Review of Laboratory and Clinical Evidence

TL;DR: Gabapentin and pregabalin for the treatment of neuropathic pain: A review of laboratory and clinical evidence.
