Journal ArticleDOI

Activity of clindamycin against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis from four UK centres

TL;DR: The results suggest that clindamycin might still be useful as a second-line agent for infections caused by S. aureus and S. epidermidis, although its activity against MRSA was limited to approximately two-thirds of the MRSA strains tested in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Macrolide, lincosamide and streptogramin resistance in Campylobacter jejuni/coli

TL;DR: Strains of erythromycin-resistant Campylobacter jejuni/coli isolated in the United Kingdom, Canada and Europe, were also resistant to tylosin, spiramycin and clindamycin, and, like sensitive strains, were insensitive to virginiamycin and pristinamycin component B.
Journal ArticleDOI

Maintenance of total cytochrome P-450 content in rat hepatocyte culture and the abundance of CYP1A2 and CYP2B1/2 mRNAs.

TL;DR: Levels of CYP1A2 and CYP2B1/2 mRNAs were maintained when hepatocytes were cultured in Williams E medium supplemented with 0.5 mM-metyrapone, but these conditions did not, however, maintain the levels of CYp1A 2 mRNA.
