Intercomparison of MODIS, MISR, OMI, and CALIPSO aerosol optical depth retrievals for four locations on the Indo-Gangetic plains and validation against AERONET data

TL;DR: In this paper, an intercomparison of aerosol optical depth (AOD) retrievals from satellite-based MODIS, Multiangle Imaging Spectroradiometer (MISR), Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), and Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observation (CALIPSO) instrumentation over Karachi, Lahore, Jaipur, and Kanpur between 2007 and 2013, with validation against AOD observations from the ground-based Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET).
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical characterization and mass closure of PM10 and PM2.5 at an urban site in Karachi – Pakistan

TL;DR: In this paper, a mass balance method is applied to assess main source contributions to PM2.5 and PM10 levels in Karachi, and the concentrations of PM2, PM10 were found to be 75μg/m3 and 437m3 respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the Morphology and Composition of Particulate Matter in an Urban Environment.

TL;DR: The morphology and composition of PM in two size fractions (PM2.5 and PM10) during November 2016 in Peshawar was measured using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR) Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

UV-Accelerated Photocatalytic Degradation of Pesticide over Magnetite and Cobalt Ferrite Decorated Graphene Oxide Composite

TL;DR: In this article, the photocatalytic potentials of catalysts were investigated against acetamiprid degradation, and it was shown that the efficiency of overall Fenton's process relies on the combined effects of contributing factors, i.e., pH, initial oxidant concentration, catalyst dose, contact time, and acetamide load.
Journal ArticleDOI

Source Apportionment and Characterization of Particulate Matter (PM10) in Urban Environment of Lahore

TL;DR: In this article, the characterization of carbonaceous species including elemental carbon (EC), organic carbon (OC), total carbon (TC), crustal (AI, Ca, Mg, Fe, S, and Ti) and trace metals (As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sn and Zn) in PM_(10) samples collected from an urban site in Lahore, Pakistan.
