Wiedensohler,Frank Raes +38 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors synthesize data on aerosol (particulate matter, PM) physical and chemical characteristics, which were obtained over the past decade in aerosol research and monitoring activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Airborne studies of aerosol emissions from savanna fires in southern Africa: 2. Aerosol chemical composition
Mo Andreae,T. W. Andreae,Harold J. Annegarn,J. Beer,Hélène Cachier,P. le Canut,W. Elbert,Willy Maenhaut,Imre Salma,Fg Wienhold,T Zenker +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated smoke emissions from fires in savanna, forest, and agricultural ecosystems by airborne sampling of plumes close to prescribed burns and incidental fires in southern Africa.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional atmospheric aerosol composition and sources in the eastern Transvaal, South Africa, and impact of biomass burning
TL;DR: In this paper, size-fractionated aerosol samples were collected during September-October 1992 at three fixed ground-based sites in the eastern Transvaal, i.e., at two sites within the Kruger National Park (KNP) and at a third site on the TransvaAL highveld (about 150 km WSW of the KNP sites), and near a number of prescribed fires in the K NP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-resolved mass concentration, composition and sources of aerosol particles in a metropolitan underground railway station
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a stacked filter unit (SFU) for particle-induced X-ray emission spectrometry (PIXE) for elemental composition of PM10-2.0 and PM2.
