Journal ArticleDOI

The Role of Ligands in the Chemical Synthesis and Applications of Inorganic Nanoparticles.

TL;DR: This article analyzes the interaction of nanoparticle surface and ligands with different chemical groups, the types of bonding, the final dispersibility of ligand-coated nanoparticles in complex media, their reactivity, and their performance in biomedicine, photodetectors, photovoltaic devices, light-emitting devices, sensors, memory devices, thermoelectric applications, and catalysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiferroicity and hydrogen-bond ordering in ( C 2 H 5 NH 3 ) 2 CuCl 4 featuring dominant ferromagnetic interactions

TL;DR: In this article, a member of the hybrid perovskite family is shown to be an electrically polar and magnetic compound with dielectric anomaly around the Curie point (247 K).
Journal ArticleDOI

Manganese doped-iron oxide nanoparticle clusters and their potential as agents for magnetic resonance imaging and hyperthermia

TL;DR: A simple, one pot method to synthesize water-dispersible Mn doped iron oxide colloidal clusters constructed of nanoparticles arranged into secondary flower-like structures was developed and shows distinct performance as imaging contrast agents and excellent characteristics as heating mediators in magnetic fluid hyperthermia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiple Twinning As a Structure Directing Mechanism in Layered Rock-Salt-Type Oxides: NaMnO2 Polymorphism, Redox Potentials, and Magnetism

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the twin planes on both the magnetic and electrochemical properties of NaMnO2 has been investigated using transmission electron microscopy and synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction.
