Journal ArticleDOI
Epstein-Barr virus load in the peripheral blood of patients with rheumatoid arthritis: accurate quantification using real-time polymerase chain reaction.
Nathalie Balandraud,Jean Baptiste Meynard,Isabelle Auger,Helene Sovran,Bénédicte Mugnier,Denis Reviron,Jean Roudier,Chantal Roudier +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that in patients with RA, the EBV DNA load in PBMCs is increased almost 10-fold compared with that in normal controls, and theEBV load is stable over time and is not obviously influenced by disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs or HLA-DR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epitopes of human fibrin recognized by the rheumatoid arthritis-specific autoantibodies to citrullinated proteins
Mireille Sebbag,Nathalie Moinard,Isabelle Auger,Cyril Clavel,Jacques Arnaud,Leonor Nogueira,Jean Roudier,Guy Serre +7 more
TL;DR: The immunological conflict between ACPA and fibrin could sustain synovial inflammation not only via pro‐inflammatory effector mechanisms but also via impairment of fibrinolysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
HLA-DR4 and HLA-DR10 motifs that carry susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis bind 70-kD heat shock proteins.
TL;DR: The QKRAA and RRRAA amino acid motifs of HLA–DR mediate binding of Hla–DR to HSP73, and this property may influence the intracellular route, processing or peptide associations of the HLA-DRβ1 chain in these two rheumatoid arthritis–associated alleles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of HLA-DR genes on the production of rheumatoid arthritis-specific autoantibodies to citrullinated fibrinogen
Isabelle Auger,Mireille Sebbag,Christian Vincent,Nathalie Balandraud,Sandrine Guis,Leonor Nogueira,Björn Svensson,Alain Cantagrel,Guy Serre,Jean Roudier +9 more
TL;DR: The RA-associated HLA–DRB1*0404 allele is also associated with production of antibodies to citrullinated fibrinogen, and T cell proliferation in response to citrillinated or uncitrullination fibr inogen peptides is frequent in RA patients and very infrequent in controls.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transfer of the shared epitope through microchimerism in women with rheumatoid arthritis.
Justyna Rak,Laetitia Maestroni,Nathalie Balandraud,Sandrine Guis,Hélène Boudinet,M. C. Guzian,Zhen Yan,Doua F. Azzouz,Isabelle Auger,Chantal Roudier,Marielle Martin,Rémi Didelot,Jean Roudier,Nathalie C. Lambert +13 more
TL;DR: Observations are the first to indicate that microchimerism can contribute to the risk of an autoimmune disease by providing HLA susceptibility alleles.
