Journal ArticleDOI

Levels and trends of brominated flame retardants in the European environment.

TL;DR: The input of BDEs to the Baltic Sea by atmospheric deposition now exceeds that of PCBs by a factor of almost 40 times, and a common suite is suggested which will allow the study of all three commercial PBDE formulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Marine ecosystems' responses to climatic and anthropogenic forcings in the Mediterranean

X. Durrieu de Madron, +93 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of current functioning and responses of Mediterranean marine biogeochemical cycles and ecosystems with respect to key natural and anthropogenic drivers and to consider the ecosystems' responses to likely changes in physical, chemical and socio-economical forcings induced by global change and by growing anthropogenic pressure at the regional scale.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) distributions in the Seine River and its estuary

TL;DR: In this article, both dissolved and particulate PAHs were quantified throughout the Seine River and its estuary, covering a salinity gradient of 0.2 to 34.8

Herbicide contamination of Mediterranean estuarine waters : Results from a MED POL pilot survey

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in mussels from selected French coastal sites: 1981-2003.

TL;DR: It is found that PBDE levels in mussels from the English Channel increased markedly from 1981 to 1991-1995, doubling approximately every 5-6 years followed by a levelling off and a possible beginning of a decrease.
