Photonic Generation of Ultrastable Microwave Signals

TL;DR: In this article, a microwave generator based on a high-Q optical resonator and a frequency comb functioning as an optical-to-microwave divider was demonstrated, achieving a 10 GHz electrical signal with fractional frequency instability <8e-16 at 1 s, a value comparable to that produced by the best microwave oscillators, but without the need for cryogenic temperatures.

Using Implied Volatility with CAViaR Models for Value at Risk Estimation

TL;DR: This paper proposed value-at-risk estimation methods that are a synthesis of conditional autoregressive value at risk (CAViaR) time series models and implied volatility, which merges information from the historical time series and the different information supplied by the market's expectation of risk.

A Comparison of Time Series Methods for Forecasting Intraday Arrivals at a Call Center

James Taylor
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluate univariate time series methods for forecasting intraday arrivals for lead times from one half-hour ahead to two weeks ahead for call centers operated by a retail bank in the United Kingdom.
