Mark IV: A Phase Coherent Observing System for Pulsars
J. A. Shrauner,Ingrid H. Stairs,R. J. Dewey,M. Krumholz,H. E. Taylor,James Taylor,Stephen E. Thorsett +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new radio astronomical receiving system designed specifically for very high precision timing and polarimetry of fast pulsars is presented. But unlike most detectors currently used to study pulsars, this intrument does not square the received signal at the time of observation, and voltages proportional to the instantaneous electric vectors of incoming signals are digitized, time-tagged, and recorded on high speed magnetic media.
Journal ArticleDOI
Raman amplification of gain switched laser diode signal at 1.35 mu m to soliton power levels
TL;DR: In this article, the amplification by stimulated Raman scattering of signals from a distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode operating at 1.35 mu m in a singlemode optical fiber with a dispersion minimum of 1.34 mu m.

Bi-allelic MCM10 mutations cause telomere shortening with immune dysfunction and cardiomyopathy
Ryan M. Baxley,Wendy Leung,Megan Schmit,Jacob Peter Matson,Marissa K. Oram,Lynn Wang,James Taylor,Lulu Yin,Jack Hedberg,Colette B. Rogers,Adam J. Harvey,Debashree Basu,Jenny C. Taylor,Alistair T. Pagnamenta,Helene Dreau,Judith Craft,Elizabeth Ormondroyd,Hugh Watkins,Eric A. Hendrickson,Emily M. Mace,Jordan S. Orange,Hideki Aihara,Grant S. Stewart,Ed Blair,Cook Jg,Anja Katrin Bielinsky +25 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that these bi-allelic mutations in MCM10 predispose specific cardiac and immune cell lineages to prematurely arrest during differentiation, causing the clinical phenotypes in both NKD and CM patients.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Short wavelength extension of CW-pumped supercontinuum at 1 micron
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported a CW supercontinuum pumped at 1 mum which extends short of the pump wavelength to 0.6 m. Four-wave mixing is believed to be a major process for the short wavelength generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time resolved spectral development of ultrashort pulse solitons in erbium fiber loop lasers
TL;DR: Using a gated pumping technique, the time resolved spectral development of ultrashort pulses in an erbium fiber "figure of eight" laser has been examined in the instability regime where the fibre laser length is comparable to the characteristic soliton length as discussed by the authors.
