Journal ArticleDOI

Aragonite and calcite cementation in “boulder-controlled” meteoric environments on the Fern Pass rockslide (Austria): implications for radiometric age dating of catastrophic mass movements

TL;DR: The Fern Pass rockslide (Eastern Alps, Austria) as discussed by the authors showed that aragonite and calcite precipitation were nourished mainly by dissolution of carbonate-rock flour.
Journal ArticleDOI

An open-system fractional crystallization model for very early continental crust formation

TL;DR: In this article, an open-system fractional crystallization mechanism was proposed to explain the origin of the TTG crust by an open system fractional scaling mechanism, where the major element composition of the magma in such reservoirs would evolve towards one resembling that of TTG rocks, and amphibole was a significant fractionating phase from such reservoirs.

Structure, metamorphism, and geochronology of the Rhenosterkoppies greenstone belt, South Africa

TL;DR: The Rhenosterkoppies greenstone belt was studied by structural mapping, petrography, and geochronology in this article, with a TDM model ages between approximately 2950 and approximately 3100 Ma, in agreement with T DM ages of gneisses from the northernmost Kaapvaal Craton and the Limpopo Belt Southern Marginal Zone in general.
