Journal ArticleDOI
Association between cannabinoid receptor gene (CNR1) and childhood attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder in Spanish male alcoholic patients.
G. Ponce,Janet Hoenicka,Gabriel Rubio,Israel Ampuero,M.A. Jimenez-Arriero,R. Rodriguez-Jimenez,Tomás Palomo,J.A. Ramos +7 more
TL;DR: Association between cannabinoid receptor gene ( CNR 1) and childhood attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder in Spanish male alcoholic patients is found and further research is needed to establish a cause-effect relationship.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic linkage of autosomal dominant progressive supranuclear palsy to 1q31.1
Raquel Ros,Pilar Gómez Garre,Michio Hirano,Yen F. Tai,Israel Ampuero,Lídice Vidal,Ana I. Rojo,A. Fontán,Ana Vazquez,Fanjul S,Hernández J,S Cantarero,Janet Hoenicka,Alison C. Jones,R. Laila Ahsan,Nicola Pavese,Paola Piccini,David J. Brooks,Jordi Pérez-Tur,Torbjorn Nyggard,Justo García de Yébenes +20 more
TL;DR: The linkage of a large Spanish family with typical autosomal dominant PSP to a new locus in chromosome 1 is reported, which could help to understand the pathogenesis of this disease and to design effective treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
An unusual late-onset case of propionic acidaemia : biochemical investigations, neuroradiological findings and mutation analysis
Celia Pérez-Cerdá,Begoña Merinero,M. Martí,J. C. Cabrera,L. Peña,M. J. Garcia,J. Gangoiti,P. Sanz,Pilar Rodríguez-Pombo,Janet Hoenicka,Eva Richard,Silvia Muro,Magdalena Ugarte +12 more
TL;DR: Propionic acidaemia can present as a sudden and fatal neurological disease and not only as an organic aciduria with severe biochemical dis-turbances and progressive neurological deterioration.
Journal ArticleDOI
The TaqIA polymorphism linked to the DRD2 gene is related to lower attention and less inhibitory control in alcoholic patients
R. Rodriguez-Jimenez,César Ávila,G. Ponce,Manuel I. Ibáñez,Gabriel Rubio,M.A. Jimenez-Arriero,Israel Ampuero,J.A. Ramos,Janet Hoenicka,Tomás Palomo +9 more
TL;DR: The results show that alcoholics carrying the TaqIA1 allele present lower sustained attention and less inhibitory control than those patients without such allele.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular findings in familial Parkinson disease in Spain.
Janet Hoenicka,Lídice Vidal,Blas Morales,Israel Ampuero,F. Javier Jiménez-Jiménez,José Berciano,Teodoro del Ser,Adriano Jiménez,Pedro J. Garcia Ruiz,Justo García de Yébenes +9 more
TL;DR: Heterozygous carriers of a single Park2 mutation either were asymptomatic or developed clinical symptoms in late adulthood or after brief exposure to haloperidol therapy, indicating hereditary Parkinson disease has more variable clinical phenotype and molecular defects than previously thought.
