Journal ArticleDOI
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection: Results of surgical repair of 100 patients at a single institution
TL;DR: Patients with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with biventricular anatomy have good outcomes, and patients with single-ventricle anatomy have higher mortality and increased risk for pulmonary vein stenosis requiring reoperation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart Transplantation for the Failing Fontan

TL;DR: The operative mortality of HTx for patients with a failing Fontan is high and lower intensity initial immunosuppression may be warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decline in rejection in the first year after pediatric cardiac transplantation: a multi-institutional study
Jeffrey G. Gossett,Charles E. Canter,Jie Zheng,Kenneth B. Schechtman,Elizabeth D. Blume,Sherrie Rodgers,David C. Naftel,James K. Kirklin,Janet Scheel,F.J. Fricker,Paul F. Kantor,Elfriede Pahl +11 more
TL;DR: The overall incidence and prevalence of rejection has substantially decreased over time in pediatric HTx recipients in the first year after HTx, but the rate of rejection with hemodynamic compromise or death from rejection remains unchanged.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes of children supported with devices labeled as "temporary" or short term: A report from the Pediatric Interagency Registry for Mechanical Circulatory Support.

TL;DR: The use of "temporary" VADs resulted in a positive outcome (bridge to transplant, recovery durable device or alive) in 71% of patients in this multi-institutional, high-acuity, complex patient cohort.
Journal ArticleDOI
