Effects of Microsatellite Null Alleles on Assignment Testing

TL;DR: Data presented here, based on simulations, show that the percentage of correctly assigned individuals in model-based clustering and Bayesian assignment methods were slightly reduced and the presence of null alleles caused a small, however, significant overestimation of F(ST).
Journal ArticleDOI

Microsatellites reveal fine‐scale genetic structure in stream‐living brown trout

TL;DR: Estimates revealed a pronounced genetic structure at six microsatellite loci in brown trout Salmo trutta in Nordre Finnvikelv, with at least three breeding units that remained stable over time, and correlation between previous behavioural observations and genetic structures was found.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNAqua-Net: Developing new genetic tools for bioassessment and monitoring of aquatic ecosystems in Europe

Florian Leese, +100 more
TL;DR: The goal of this Action is to nucleate a group of researchers across disciplines with the task to identify gold-standard genomic tools and novel ecogenomic indices for routine application in biodiversity assessments of European fresh- and marine water bodies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic Identity of YOY Bluefin Tuna from the Eastern and Western Atlantic Spawning Areas

TL;DR: The genetic divergence among spawning populations, combined with the extensive trans-Atlantic movements reported for juvenile and adult Atlantic bluefin tuna, indicates a high degree of spawning site fidelity.
