Journal ArticleDOI

Pathological inflammation in patients with COVID-19: a key role for monocytes and macrophages.

TL;DR: The potentially pathological roles of macrophages during SARS-CoV-2 infection are described and ongoing and prospective therapeutic strategies to modulate macrophage activation in patients with COVID-19 are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Everything you always wanted to know about the cosmological constant problem (but were afraid to ask)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the cosmological constant problem at a pedagogical but fully technical level and show that the properly renormalized value of the zero-point energy density today (for a free theory) is in fact far from being 122 orders of magnitude larger than the critical energy density.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Robustness of quintessence

TL;DR: In this article, the curvature effects and the K\"ahler corrections were considered in the case of an inverse power potential and investigated its robustness to corrections, and it was shown that quintessence is not affected by the one-loop quantum corrections.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum Amyloid A Proteins Induce Pathogenic Th17 Cells and Promote Inflammatory Disease

TL;DR: It is shown that SAA1, SAA2, and SAA3 have distinct systemic and local functions in promoting Th17-mediated inflammatory diseases, suggesting that T cell signaling pathways modulated by the SAAs may be attractive targets for anti-inflammatory therapies.
