Impact of NTRK2, DRD2 and ACE polymorphisms on prolactin levels in antipsychotic-treated patients with first-episode psychosis.
Patricia Gassó,Sergi Mas,Miquel Bioque,Bibiana Cabrera,Antonio Lobo,Ana González-Pinto,Covadonga M. Díaz-Caneja,Iluminada Corripio,Iluminada Corripio,Eduard Vieta,Josefina Castro-Fornieles,Salvador Sarró,Anna Mané,Julio Sanjuán,Adrián LLerena,Amalia Lafuente,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,Miguel Bernardo +17 more
TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence for the involvement of NTRK2, which suggests that pathways other than the ones related to dopamine or serotonin may participate in the AP-related PRL levels, and gives more support to the impact of DRD2, but also of other genesrelated to dopamine availability such as ACE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute atropine intoxication with psychiatric symptoms by herbal infusion of Pulmonaria officinalis (Lungwort)
Enrique Baca-García,Hilario Blasco-Fontecilla,Carlos Blanco,Carmen Diaz-Sastre,M. Mercedes Perez-Rodriguez,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz +5 more
TL;DR: This is the first report of acute atropine intoxications with psychiatric symptoms secondary to Pulmonaria offici- nalis in several members of a family and it is suspected that the lungwort infusion may have been contaminated with some other substance with atropinic properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,Angela Ibáñez,Marina Díaz-Marsá,Francisco Arias,José L. Carrasco,David Huertas,Manuel Martín-Carrasco,Isabel Moreno,Fernando Rico-Villademoros +8 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroleptic-induced catatonia: neuroleptic malignant syndrome?
Jose de Leon,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,Adela Alonso-Abolafia,Elvira Pico-Soler,Jorge Munoz-Ruata,Inmaculada De La Serna +5 more
TL;DR: A case report of catatonia syndrome after administration of depot neuroleptics is described, with emphasis on the lack of clear clinical description and poor conceptual definition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Personalized medicine begins with the phenotype: identifying antipsychotic response phenotypes in a first-episode psychosis cohort.
Sergi Mas,Patricia Gassó,Noel Rodriguez,Bibiana Cabrera,Gisela Mezquida,Antonio Lobo,A. González-Pinto,M. Parellada,Iluminada Corripio,Eduard Vieta,Josefina Castro-Fornieles,Julio Bobes,Julio Bobes,Judith Usall,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,Fernando Contreras,Eduard Parellada,Miguel Bernardo +17 more
TL;DR: Here, a clustering strategy to identify phenotypes of antipsychotic (AP) response by using longitudinal data from patients presenting first‐episode psychosis (FEP) is presented.
