VLBI Observations of Gamma-Ray-quiet Active Galactic Nuclei: Comparing Radio-Core Brightness Temperatures
Steven Tingay,David W. Murphy,James E. J. Lovell,M. E. Costa,P. M. McCulloch,P. G. Edwards,David L. Jauncey,John Reynolds,Anastasios Tzioumis,E. A. King,Dayton L. Jones,Robert A. Preston,David L. Meier,T. D. van Ommen,George D. Nicolson,J. F. H. Quick +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented VLBI and Australia Telescope Compact Array images and derived source-frame radio-core brightness temperatures for three prominent, flat-spectrum extragalactic radio sources, notable because they have not been detected as gamma-ray sources with the EGRET instrument.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the dynamics of the ABDoradus system
J. C. Guirado,Ivan Marti-Vidal,J. M. Marcaide,Laird M. Close,J. C. Algaba,Wolfgang Brandner,J.-F. Lestrade,D. L. Jauncey,D. L. Jones,Robert A. Preston,John Reynolds +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an astrometric analysis of the binary systems ABDorA /ABDorC and ABdorBa / ABDORBb is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
VLBI observations of southern EGRET identifications .1. PKS 0208-512, PKS 0521-365, and PKS 0537-441
Steven Tingay,P. G. Edwards,M. E. Costa,James E. J. Lovell,P. M. McCulloch,D. L. Jauncey,John Reynolds,Anastasios Tzioumis,Victor Migenes,R. G. Gough,E. A. King,D. L. Jones,Robert A. Preston,D. W. Murphy,David L. Meier,T. D. van Ommen,M.E. St John,D. W. Hoard,George D. Nicolson,T. S. Wan,Z. Q. Shen +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Energetic Gamma-Ray Experiment Telescope (EGRET) has identified three radio sources as greater than 100 MeV gamma-ray sources, including PKS 0208-512, PKS 0537-441 and PKS 521-365.
Journal ArticleDOI
The parsec-scale structure and evolution of the nearby Fanaroff-Riley type II radio galaxy Pictor A
Steven Tingay,Steven Tingay,David L. Jauncey,John Reynolds,Anastasios Tzioumis,P. M. McCulloch,Simon Ellingsen,M. E. Costa,James E. J. Lovell,Robert A. Preston,S. M. Simkin +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) images of the core emission from a nearby bright FR II radio galaxy, Pictor A, revealing its parsec-scale jet structure and evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Milliarcsecond maps of 12 GHz methanol masers
Ray P. Norris,W. H. McCutcheon,W. H. McCutcheon,J. L. Caswell,K. J. Wellington,John Reynolds,R. S. Peng,M. J. Kesteven +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the first maps of these masers, which were obtained using a 275-km baseline radio-linked interferometer, and show that the region occupied by methanol masers appears to have a similar extent to that of the well studied OH masers and presumably surrounds the same newly formed stars.
