Polarization observations of 20 millisecond pulsars
W. M. Yan,Richard N. Manchester,W. van Straten,John Reynolds,George Hobbs,Na Wang,Matthew Bailes,N. D. R. Bhat,Sarah Burke-Spolaor,Sarah Burke-Spolaor,D. J. Champion,D. J. Champion,William A. Coles,Aidan Hotan,Aidan Hotan,Jonathan Khoo,Stefan Oslowski,Stefan Oslowski,John Sarkissian,Joris P. W. Verbiest,Joris P. W. Verbiest,D. R. B. Yardley,D. R. B. Yardley +22 more
TL;DR: Polarization profiles for 20 millisecond pulsars were presented in this paper for the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project, and the results support the idea that radio emission from millisecond pulses originates high in the pulsar magnetosphere, probably close to the emission regions for high-energy X-ray and gamma-ray emission.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of a Sub-Parsec Radio Counterjet in the Nucleus of Centaurus A
D. L. Jones,Steven Tingay,D. W. Murphy,David L. Meier,D. L. Jauncey,John Reynolds,Anastasios Tzioumis,Robert A. Preston,P. M. McCulloch,M. E. Costa,Athol J. Kemball,George D. Nicolson,J. F. H. Quick,E. A. King,James E. J. Lovell,Roger W Clay,R. H. Ferris,R. G. Gough,M. W. Sinclair,Simon Ellingsen,P. G. Edwards,Paul Jones,T. D. van Ommen,P. Harbison,Victor Migenes +24 more
TL;DR: A sub-parsec scale radio counterjet has been detected in the nucleus of the closest radio galaxy, Centaurus A (NGC 5128), with VLBI imaging at 2.3 and 8.4 GHz.

Polarization observations of 20 millisecond pulsars
W. M. Yan,Richard N. Manchester,Willem van Straten,John Reynolds,George Hobbs,Na Wang,Matthew Bailes,Ramesh Bhat,Sarah Burke-Spolaor,David Champion,William A. Coles,Aidan Hotan,Jonathan Khoo,Stefan Oslowski,John Sarkissian,Joris P. W. Verbiest,D. R. B. Yardley +16 more
TL;DR: Polarization profiles for 20 millisecond pulsars were presented in this article for the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project, where 13 of the 20 pulsars showed radio emission over more than half of the pulse period, suggesting that the basic radio emission mechanism is the same in both classes of pulsars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulsar Timing with the Parkes Radio Telescope for the Fermi Mission
Patrick Weltevrede,Simon Johnston,R. N. Manchester,Ramesh Bhat,M. Burgay,D. J. Champion,George Hobbs,Bulent Kiziltan,Michael Keith,A. Possenti,John Reynolds,Karen Watters +11 more
TL;DR: The Parkes radio telescope has been used for the timing of 168 pulsars in the first year of its operation as mentioned in this paper, with the vast majority of these pulsars having spin-down luminosities in excess of 10^34 erg/s and are prime target candidates to be detected in gamma-rays by the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seyfert galaxies and the radio—far-infrared correlation
Alan L. Roy,Alan L. Roy,Alan L. Roy,Ray P. Norris,Michael Kesteven,E. R. Troup,John Reynolds +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors observed a sample of 149 Seyfert galaxies and radio-quiet quasars at 13 cm with both a 275km radio interferometer and the 6-km compact array of the Australia Telescope.
