Bipyrrole-Strapped Calix[4]pyrroles: Strong Anion Receptors That Extract the Sulfate Anion

TL;DR: Cage-type calix[4]pyrroles 2 and 3 bearing two additional pyrrole groups on the strap have been synthesized and were found to exhibit remarkably enhanced affinities for anions, including the sulfate anion (TBA(+) salts), in organic media (CD2Cl2).
Journal ArticleDOI

Zinc selective chemosensor based on pyridyl-amide fluorescence

TL;DR: In this paper, a chemosensors for Zn2+ based on dipicolylamine (DPA) groups connected by a pyridyl amide backbone has been synthesized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zinc selective chemosensors based on the flexible dipicolylamine and quinoline

TL;DR: In this paper, dipicolylamine (DPA) was shown to be highly select for Zn2+ over Cd2+ and other cations such as Hg2+, Fe2+, Mn2+, and Ca2+.
Journal ArticleDOI

Robust and efficient amide-based nonheme manganese(III) hydrocarbon oxidation catalysts: Substrate and solvent effects on involvement and partition of multiple active oxidants

TL;DR: Close similarities are observed between these nonheme Mn(III) complex systems and Mn(saloph) catalysts previously reported, suggesting that this simultaneous operation of the three active oxidants might prevail in all the manganese-catalyzed olefin epoxidations, including Mn( salen), Mn(nonheme), and even Mn(porphyrin) complexes.
