TL;DR: Genotyping by multiple-locus variable-number tandem-repeat analysis (MLVA) showed that the majority of the 82 MBL-producing isolates found belonged to a single MLVA type (n = 70, 85%), identified as ST111 by multilocus sequence typing (MLST).

TL;DR: RA was able to discriminate outbreak-related isolates from isolates that were not involved in an outbreak or transmission, and it was found that the RA approach recognized clones, irrespective of the extended-spectrum β-lactamase type.
