Journal ArticleDOI

Diamondback moth compensatory consumption of protease inhibitor-transformed plants.

TL;DR: Transgenic PIs are not only less effective than previously thought in protecting Brassica plants from diamondback moths, they may actually lead to increased plant damage by the moths.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial and Temporal Segregation of Juvenile and Mature Garlic Mustard Plants (Alliaria petiolata) in a Central Pennsylvania Woodland

TL;DR: It is found that juveniles from juvenile patches have a higher probability of survival than juveniles from mixed patches and adult removal improved juvenile survival in mixed patches, and the spatial and temporal segregation of juvenile and adult age classes is maintained by intraspecific competition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress‐induced assortative mating and the evolution of stress resistance

TL;DR: It is shown with a model that variation in environmental stress between generations facilitates the evolution of stress resistance through assortative mating, and a novel mechanism for the persistence of resistance polymorphisms is suggested.
