The Young Stellar Population in M17 Revealed by Chandra
Patrick S. Broos,Eric D. Feigelson,Leisa K. Townsley,Konstantin V. Getman,Junfeng Wang,Gordon P. Garmire,Zhibo Jiang,Yohko Tsuboi +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Chandra ACIS observations of the stellar populations in and around the M17 H II region were reported, revealing 886 sources with observed X-ray luminosities (uncorrected for absorption) between similar to 29.3 ergs s(-1) < log L(X) < 32.8 ergs n−1, 771 of which have stellar counterparts in infrared images.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Chandra Study of the Rosette Star-forming Complex. I. The Stellar Population and Structure of the Young Open Cluster NGC 2244
Junfeng Wang,Leisa K. Townsley,Eric D. Feigelson,Patrick S. Broos,Konstantin V. Getman,Carlos Román-Zúñiga,Carlos Román-Zúñiga,Elizabeth A. Lada +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the first high-resolution X-ray study of NGC 2244, the 2 Myr old stellar cluster in the Rosette Nebula, using Chandra.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-Ray Study of Triggered Star Formation and Protostars in IC 1396N
TL;DR: In this article, the authors detect 117 X-ray sources, of which ~50-60 are likely members of the young open cluster Trumpler 37 dispersed throughout the H II region, and 25 are associated with young stars formed within the globule.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-ray Star Clusters in the Carina Complex
Eric D. Feigelson,Konstantin V. Getman,Leisa K. Townsley,Patrick S. Broos,Matthew S. Povich,Gordon P. Garmire,Robert R. King,Thierry Montmerle,Thomas Preibisch,Nathan Smith,Nathan Smith,Keivan G. Stassun,Keivan G. Stassun,Junfeng Wang,Scott J. Wolk,Hans Zinnecker +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the distribution of young stars found in the Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP) is examined for clustering structure, and the principal known clusters are recovered, and some additional smaller groups are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
An X-Ray Census of Young Stars in the Massive Southern Star-forming Complex NGC 6357
Junfeng Wang,Leisa K. Townsley,Eric D. Feigelson,Konstantin V. Getman,Patrick S. Broos,Gordon P. Garmire,Masahiro Tsujimoto +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the first high-resolution X-ray study of the massive star-forming region NGC 6357, obtained in a 38 ks Chandra/ACIS observation.
