Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of emissions and combustion characteristics of a CI engine fueled with waste cooking oil methyl ester and diesel blends
TL;DR: In this paper, in-depth research and comparative study of blends of biodiesel made from WCO and diesel is carried out to bring out the benefits of its extensive usage in CI engines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of pongamia biodiesel on emission and combustion characteristics of DI compression ignition engine
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of bio-diesel on a diesel engine when compared to diesel and evolves conclusions with respect to performance and emissions are evaluated, even though the performance reduces slightly when the engine is fueled with biodiesel, significant changes in the combustion parameters observed in case of biodiesel blends are significant to note.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of pongamia oil methyl ester–diesel blend on lubricating oil degradation of di compression ignition engine
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study on degradation of a single cylinder diesel engine fuelled by biodiesel blend (20 per cent) and diesel, respectively, was carried out to assess the durability of the engine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance analysis and emissions profile of cottonseed oil biodiesel–ethanol blends in a CI engine
K Nantha Gopal,B. Ashok,K L Senthil Kumar,R. Thundil Karuppa Raj,S. Denis Ashok,Vignesh Varatharajan,Vivek Anand +6 more
TL;DR: Biodiesel is identified as a likely alternative fuel for Compression Ignition (CI) engines as it leads to an effective reduction in consumption of petroleum diesel, and of engine exhaust emissions as mentioned in this paper.
