Journal ArticleDOI
Bridging the Gap between Industrial and Well-Defined Supported Catalysts
Christophe Copéret,Florian Allouche,Ka Wing Chan,Matthew P. Conley,Matthew P. Conley,Murielle F. Delley,Alexey Fedorov,Ilia B. Moroz,Victor Mougel,Victor Mougel,Margherita Pucino,Keith Searles,Keishi Yamamoto,Pavel A. Zhizhko,Pavel A. Zhizhko +14 more
TL;DR: This Review discusses how surface organometallic chemistry (SOMC) engineers surface sites with well-defined structures and provides insight into the nature of the active sites of industrial catalysts; the Review focuses in particular on olefin production and conversion processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly Productive Propane Dehydrogenation Catalyst Using Silica-Supported Ga–Pt Nanoparticles Generated from Single-Sites
Keith Searles,Ka Wing Chan,Jorge Augusto Mendes Burak,Dmitry Zemlyanov,Olga V. Safonova,Christophe Copéret +5 more
TL;DR: This bimetallic material exhibits catalytic performance that far surpasses each of the individual components and other reported Ga-Pt based catalysts; this is attributed to the highly dispersed Ga xPt alloyed structure on a support with low Brønsted acidity containing gallium single-sites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular and Silica-Supported Molybdenum Alkyne Metathesis Catalysts: Influence of Electronics and Dynamics on Activity Revealed by Kinetics, Solid-State NMR, and Chemical Shift Analysis.
Deven P. Estes,Christopher P. Gordon,Alexey Fedorov,Wei-Chih Liao,Henrike Ehrhorn,Celine Bittner,Manuel Luca Zier,Dirk Bockfeld,Ka Wing Chan,Odile Eisenstein,Odile Eisenstein,Christophe Raynaud,Matthias Tamm,Christophe Copéret +13 more
TL;DR: Solid-state NMR analysis of molecular and silica-supported metal alkylidyne catalysts coupled with DFT/ZORA calculations rationalize the NMR spectroscopic signatures and discernible activity trends at the frontier orbital level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low Temperature Activation of Supported Metathesis Catalysts by Organosilicon Reducing Agents
Victor Mougel,Ka Wing Chan,Georges Siddiqi,Kento Kawakita,Haruki Nagae,Hayato Tsurugi,Kazushi Mashima,Olga V. Safonova,Christophe Copéret +8 more
TL;DR: A low temperature activation process of well-defined metal oxo surface species using organosilicon reductants that generates a large amount of active species at only 70 °C (0.6 active sites/W) broadens the scope of these catalysts to functionalized substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ruthenium-Catalyzed Deuteration of Alcohols with Deuterium Oxide
TL;DR: The catalytic properties of a series of ruthenium complexes for H/D exchange between D2O and alcohols were studied in this article, and the catalytic activity of the R-clusters and the regioselectivity of the H-D exchange reactions were found to be dependent on the auxiliary ligands.
