Hormonal responses to striking combat sports competition:a systematic review and meta-analysis
TL;DR: The results showed that both official and simulated bouts are a real stressor of the hormonal system of practitioners and coaches and applied practitioners should adopt “pre-competitive cognitive/coping strategies” to improve the psychological state that mediates the hormonal changes-competition/outcome relationship of their athletes in order to mitigate athletes’ stress.

The acute effect of the tongue position in the mouth on knee isokinetic test performance: a highly surprising pilot study.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the tongue involvement within the isokinetic knee extension/flexion exercises and found an increase of knee flexion peak torque in UP with respect to MID at both angular speeds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methods may matter in injury surveillance: "how" may be more important than "what, when or why".
TL;DR: It is suggested that sports medicine journals should adopt minimum reporting standards and perhaps checklists could be a useful step forward after injury and exposure data were collected among professional male players from the Qatar Stars League from the 2008-2009 season to the 2017-2018 season.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diaphragm kinetics during pneumatic belt respiratory assistance: a sonographic study in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Jean Ayoub,J Milane,Rémi Targhetta,Jacques Prioux,Karim Chamari,Ph Arbeille,O Jonquet,Jean-Marie Bourgeois,Christian Préfaut +8 more
TL;DR: The pneumatic abdomino-diaphragmatic belt significantly improved gas exchanges and ventilation by increasing diaphragm excursion, as was clearly shown by noninvasive M-mode sonography.
