Journal ArticleDOI

Genome scans provide evidence for low-HDL-C loci on chromosomes 8q23, 16q24.1-24.2, and 20q13.11 in Finnish families.

TL;DR: Evidence for linkage between the low-HDL-C trait and three loci is found, in a pooled data analysis of families with low HDL-C and FCHL, in an independent sample group of 29 Finnish families that were ascertained for familial combined hyperlipidemia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circulating Oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein and Its Association With Carotid Intima-Media Thickness in Asymptomatic Members of Familial Combined Hyperlipidemia Families

TL;DR: Serum LDL cholesterol, apoB levels, and 8-isoprostane were the most important determinants of Ox-LDL, which is independently associated with carotid IMT in asymptomatic F CHL family members and can be used as a marker of early atherosclerosis in FCHL.
Journal ArticleDOI

LDL particle size in familial combined hyperlipidemia: effects of serum lipids, lipoprotein-modifying enzymes, and lipid transfer proteins.

TL;DR: It is concluded that serum triglyceride concentration is strongly correlated with LDL size in affected FCHL subjects, and after adjustment for serum triglycerides, HL and CETP activities are associated with HDL size in F CHL.
