TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the requirements for high reliability in the systems (diagnostics) that provide the measurements in the ITER environment, which is similar to those made on the present-day large tokamaks while the specification of the measurements will be more stringent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigations of impurity seeding and radiation control for long-pulse and high-density H-mode plasmas in JT-60U
TL;DR: In this article, the power handling by large radiative power loss has been studied in long pulse ELMy H-mode discharges on JT-60U (τd = 30-35 s).
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly charged tungsten spectra observed from JT-60U plasmas at Te ? 8 and 14 keV
TL;DR: In this paper, the vacuum ultraviolet spectra of highly charged tungsten ions in plasmas at electron temperatures of 8 keV and 14 keV were observed and the emission lines in a wavelength range of 2.6-3.2 nm for the plasma at 8 kV were identified to be the 3p3/2-3d5/2 transitions of W47 +−W54 +.
Journal ArticleDOI
RF heated wall conditioning discharges in JT-60U
TL;DR: In a series of experiments in 2000 and 2008, helium wall conditioning discharges by ECRF heating (ECH) were extensively studied in JT-60U with BT = 3.6 T and PECRF = 2.5 MW as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progresses in development of the ITER edge Thomson scattering system
E. Yatsuka,M. Bassan,Takaki Hatae,Masao Ishikawa,T. Shimada,George Vayakis,Michael Walsh,R. Scannell,R. Huxford,Petra Bilkova,P. Bohm,M. Aftanas,Kiyoshi Itami +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial resolution and accuracy of the edge Thomson scattering system in ITER (ITER ETS) were discussed and the impact of fast sampling relative to current integration was also investigated.
