Journal ArticleDOI
Structure and dynamics of hydrogen molecules in the novel clathrate hydrate by high pressure neutron diffraction.
Konstantin A. Lokshin,Yusheng Zhao,Duanwei He,Wendy L. Mao,Wendy L. Mao,Ho-kwang Mao,Russell J. Hemley,Maxim V. Lobanov,Martha Greenblatt +8 more
TL;DR: The D2 clathrate hydrate crystal structure was determined as a function of temperature and pressure by neutron diffraction for the first time and can be reversibly varied by changing the large cage occupancy between two and four molecules, while remaining single occupancy of the small cage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-dimensional resonant magnetic excitation in BaFe1.84Co0.16As2.
Mark D Lumsden,Andrew D. Christianson,D. Parshall,Matthew B. Stone,S. E. Nagler,Gregory MacDougall,Herbert A. Mook,Konstantin A. Lokshin,Takeshi Egami,Takeshi Egami,Douglas L. Abernathy,Eugene Goremychkin,Eugene Goremychkin,Raymond Osborn,Michael A. McGuire,Athena S. Sefat,R. Jin,Brian C. Sales,David Mandrus +18 more
TL;DR: Inelastic neutron scattering measurements on single crystals of superconducting BaFe1.84Co0.16As2 reveal a magnetic excitation located at wave vectors in tetragonal notation, indicating that the magnetic fluctuations are two dimensional in nature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fast synthesis method and phase diagram of hydrogen clathrate hydrate
TL;DR: In this article, the formation of hydrogen clathrate from H2 gas and ice-Ih at 77-273K occurs at least 100 times faster compared to the reaction with water.
Journal ArticleDOI
La3Ni2O6: a new double T'-type nickelate with infinite Ni1+/2+O2 layers.
Viktor V. Poltavets,Konstantin A. Lokshin,S. Dikmen,Mark Croft,Takeshi Egami,Martha Greenblatt +5 more
TL;DR: New mixed-valent, Ni1+/Ni2+, metastable nickelate was synthesized by low-temperature reduction of La3Ni2O7 with CaH2 by Rietveld analysis and X-ray absorption spectroscopy supports the 1+/2+ oxidation state and planar coordination of Ni in agreement with the structure determination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bulk Magnetic Order in a Two-Dimensional Ni1+/Ni2+ (d9/d8) Nickelate, Isoelectronic with Superconducting Cuprates
Viktor V. Poltavets,Viktor V. Poltavets,Konstantin A. Lokshin,Andriy H. Nevidomskyy,Mark Croft,Trevor A. Tyson,Joke Hadermann,Gustaaf Van Tendeloo,Takeshi Egami,Takeshi Egami,Gabriel Kotliar,N. apRoberts-Warren,Adam Dioguardi,Nicholas Curro,Martha Greenblatt +14 more
TL;DR: Experimental evidence for a bulklike magnetic transition in La4Ni3O8 at 105 K is reported, and density functional theory calculations relate the transition to a spin density wave nesting instability of the Fermi surface.
