Blankestijn,Michiel Voskuil,Zwaantina Rittersma,A. A. Kroon,W. H. Van Zwam,Alexandre Persu,Jean Renkin +132 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated whether an alternative technology using endovascular ultrasound renal denervation reduces ambulatory blood pressure in patients with hypertension in the absence of antihypertensive medications.
Journal ArticleDOI
A phase 1, single-dose study of fresolimumab, an anti-TGF-β antibody, in treatment-resistant primary focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
Howard Trachtman,Fernando C. Fervenza,Debbie S. Gipson,Peter Heering,David Jayne,Harm Peters,Stefano Rota,Giuseppe Remuzzi,L. Christian Rump,Lorenz Sellin,Jeremy Heaton,James B. Streisand,Marjie L. Hard,Steven R. Ledbetter,Flavio Vincenti +14 more
TL;DR: Single-dose fresolimumab was well tolerated in patients with primary resistant FSGS, with pustular rash the only adverse event in two patients and the mean dose-normalized Cmax and area under the curve were independent of dose.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rationale and design of a large registry on renal denervation: The Global SYMPLICITY registry
Michael Böhm,Felix Mahfoud,Christian Ukena,Axel Bauer,Eckart Fleck,Uta C. Hoppe,Ulrich Kintscher,Krzysztof Narkiewicz,Manuela Negoita,Luis M. Ruilope,L. Christian Rump,Markus P. Schlaich,Roland E. Schmieder,Horst Sievert,Joachim Weil,Bryan Williams,Uwe Zeymer,Giuseppe Mancia +17 more
TL;DR: The rationale, design and first baseline data from the Global SYMPLICITY registry are presented, and a benefit from renal denervation in a variety of conditions such as chronic kidney disease, glucose intolerance, sleep apnoea and heart failure are suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
β-Arrestin2 mediates nephrin endocytosis and impairs slit diaphragm integrity
Ivo Quack,L. Christian Rump,Peter Gerke,Inga Walther,Tobias Vinke,Oliver Vonend,Thomas Grünwald,Lorenz Sellin +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that nephrin Y1193 serves as a molecular switch that determines the integrity of the slit diaphragm by functional competition between β-arrestin2 and podocin and opens therapeutic avenues for glomerular diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute renal failure due to a malignant lymphoma infiltration uncovered by renal biopsy
Lorenz Sellin,Cornelia Friedl,Guido Klein,Rüdiger Waldherr,L. Christian Rump,Stefan M. Weiner +5 more
TL;DR: The importance of a renal biopsy in the work-up of ARF even in patients with known malignant diseases is shown, as well as the need for adequate dose-adjusted chemotherapy (CHOP) in the follow-up.
