General equation for the determination of the crystallite size La of nanographite by Raman spectroscopy
L. G. Cançado,Kazuyuki Takai,Toshiaki Enoki,Morinobu Endo,Yoong Ahm Kim,H. Mizusaki,Ado Jorio,L. N. Coelho,Rogério Magalhães-Paniago,Marcos A. Pimenta +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic study of the ratio between the integrated intensities of the disorder-induced D and G Raman bands (ID∕IG) in nanographite samples with different crystallite sizes (La) and using different excitation laser energies is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Raman-scattering study of the phonon dispersion in twisted bi-layer graphene
TL;DR: In this article, a superlattice-induced Raman scattering can be used to probe the phonon dispersion in twisted bi-layer graphene (tBLG), which is different from the broadly studied double-resonance in graphene-related materials in many aspects, and despite the absence of stacking order in tBLG, layer breathing vibrations (namely ZO' phonons) are observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modulating the Electronic Properties along Carbon Nanotubes via Tube-Substrate Interaction
Jaqueline S. Soares,Ana Paula M. Barboza,Paulo T. Araujo,Newton M. Barbosa Neto,Newton M. Barbosa Neto,Denise Nakabayashi,Nitzan Shadmi,Tohar S. Yarden,Ariel Ismach,Noam Geblinger,Ernesto Joselevich,Cecília Vilani,L. G. Cançado,L. G. Cançado,Lukas Novotny,Gene Dresselhaus,Mildred S. Dresselhaus,Bernardo R. A. Neves,Mario S. C. Mazzoni,Ado Jorio +19 more
TL;DR: This work studies single wall carbon nanotubes deposited on quartz and addresses the problem using electric force microscopy and ab initio calculations, both showing that the electronic properties along a single SWNT are being modulated via tube-substrate interaction.
Book ChapterDOI
Measuring Disorder in Graphene with Raman Spectroscopy
TL;DR: In this paper, a phenomelogical model has been established to explain the evolution of the Raman spectrum of graphene with increasing amount of disorder caused by low energy ion bombardment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Micro-Raman spectroscopy of refractive index microstructures in silicone-based hydrogel polymers created by high-repetition-rate femtosecond laser micromachining
Li Ding,L. G. Cançado,Lukas Novotny,Wayne H. Knox,Neil Anderson,Dharmendra Jani,Jeffrey G. Linhardt,Richard I. Blackwell,Jay F. Kunzler +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to study silicone-based hydrogel polymers after being modified by 800 nm, 27 fs laser pulses from a Ti:sapphire oscillator at 93 MHz repetition rate.
