Defibrillator Implantation in Patients with Nonischemic Systolic Heart Failure
Lars Køber,Jens Jakob Thune,Jens Jakob Thune,Jens Nielsen,Jens Nielsen,Jens Haarbo,Jens Haarbo,Lars Videbæk,Eva Korup,Jensen G,Per Hildebrandt,Flemming Hald Steffensen,Niels Eske Bruun,Niels Eske Bruun,Niels Eske Bruun,Hans Eiskjær,Hans Eiskjær,Axel Brandes,Anna Margrethe Thøgersen,Finn Gustafsson,Kenneth Egstrup,Regitze Videbæk,Christian Hassager,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Dan Eik Høfsten,Christian Torp-Pedersen,S. Pehrson +26 more
TL;DR: In this trial, prophylactic ICD implantation in patients with symptomatic systolic heart failure not caused by coronary artery disease was not associated with a significantly lower long-term rate of death from any cause than was usual clinical care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 analogue, on left ventricular function in stable chronic heart failure patients with and without diabetes (LIVE)—a multicentre, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial
Anders Jorsal,Caroline Kistorp,Pernille Holmager,Rasmus Stilling Tougaard,Rasmus Stilling Tougaard,Roni Nielsen,Roni Nielsen,Anja Hänselmann,Brian Nilsson,Jacob E. Møller,Jakob Hjort,Jon J Rasmussen,Jon J Rasmussen,Trine Welløv Boesgaard,Morten Schou,Lars Videbæk,Ida Gustafsson,Allan Flyvbjerg,Allan Flyvbjerg,Henrik Wiggers,Henrik Wiggers,Lise Tarnow,Lise Tarnow +22 more
TL;DR: To determine the effect of the glucagon‐like peptide‐1 analogue liraglutide on left ventricular function in chronic heart failure patients with and without type 2 diabetes, the objective was to establish an apples-to- apples comparison study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global strain in severe aortic valve stenosis: relation to clinical outcome after aortic valve replacement.
Jordi S. Dahl,Lars Videbæk,Mikael Kjær Poulsen,Torsten R Rudbæk,Patricia A. Pellikka,Jacob E. Møller +5 more
TL;DR: The importance of reduced preoperative global longitudinal systolic strain (GLS) on long-term outcome after aortic valve replacement is unknown as discussed by the authors, and the importance of reducing preoperative GLS is unknown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age and Outcomes of Primary Prevention Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators in Patients With Nonischemic Systolic Heart Failure.
Marie Bayer Elming,Jens Cosedis Nielsen,Jens Haarbo,Lars Videbæk,Eva Korup,Eva Korup,James Signorovitch,Line L Olesen,Per Hildebrandt,Flemming Hald Steffensen,Niels Eske Bruun,Niels Eske Bruun,Hans Eiskjær,Axel Brandes,Anna Margrethe Thøgersen,Anna Margrethe Thøgersen,Finn Gustafsson,Kenneth Egstrup,Regitze Videbæk,Christian Hassager,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Dan Eik Høfsten,Christian Torp-Pedersen,Christian Torp-Pedersen,S. Pehrson,Lars Køber,Jens Jakob Thune +26 more
TL;DR: In patients with systolic heart failure not caused by ischemic heart disease, the association between the ICD and survival decreased linearly with increasing age, and an age cutoff for ICD implantation at ⩽70 years yielded the highest survival for the population as a whole.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence of cancer in patients with chronic heart failure: a long-term follow-up study
Ann Banke,Morten Schou,Lars Videbæk,Jacob E. Møller,Christian Torp-Pedersen,Finn Gustafsson,Jordi S. Dahl,Lars Køber,Per Hildebrandt,Gunnar Gislason +9 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the incidence and risk of cancer and all‐cause mortality in a large Danish HF cohort found that co‐morbidity is increasing and improving with improvement in survival of chronic heart failure.
