Effort for money? Farmers' rationale for participation in agri-environment measures with different implementation complexity
Ann Van Herzele,Anne Gobin,Peter Van Gossum,Lilibeth A. Acosta,Lilibeth A. Acosta,Tom Waas,Nicolas Dendoncker,Bruno Henry de Frahan +7 more
TL;DR: The study demonstrates that participation in AEM is not simply a matter of weighing the money against the effort for adoption, and six modes or styles of participation are identified: opportunistic, calculative, compensatory, optimising, catalysing and engaged.

Loss and damage from typhoon-induced floods and landslides in the Philippines: community perceptions on climate impacts and adaptation options
Lilibeth A. Acosta,Elena A. Eugenio,Paula Beatrice M. Macandog,Damasa B. Magcale-Macandog,Elaine Kuan Hui Lin,Edwin R. Abucay,Alfi Lorenz Cura,Mary Grace Primavera +7 more
TL;DR: The authors investigated the types and scale of loss and damage in two municipalities that were affected by typhoon-induced floods and landslides in 2004 and 2012 and found that human loss and property damage are causing psychological distress to affected people, undermining capacity to adapt to the next disasters.
Journal ArticleDOI
A spatially explicit scenario-driven model of adaptive capacity to global change in Europe
Lilibeth A. Acosta,Lilibeth A. Acosta,Richard J. T. Klein,Richard J. T. Klein,Pytrik Reidsma,Marc J. Metzger,Mark Rounsevell,Rik Leemans,Dagmar Schröter +8 more
TL;DR: This paper presents the first spatially explicit scenario-driven model of adaptive Capacity, which can be combined with impact models to support quantitative vulnerability assessment and provides insight into broad patterns of adaptive capacity across Europe.
