Journal ArticleDOI
Combined effects of crude oil exposure and warming on eggs and larvae of an arctic forage fish.
Morgan Lizabeth Bender,Julia Giebichenstein,Ragnar Teisrud,Jennifer Malica Laurent,Marianne Frantzen,James P. Meador,Lisbet Sørensen,Bjørn Henrik Hansen,Helena C. Reinardy,Benjamin J. Laurel,Jasmine Nahrgang +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show synergistic adverse effects of increased temperature and crude oil exposure on early life stages documented by an increased prevalence of malformations and mortality in exposed larvae.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of methods to determine adsorption of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to dispersed carbon nanotubes
Berit Glomstad,Lisbet Sørensen,Jingfu Liu,Mohai Shen,Mohai Shen,Florian Zindler,Florian Zindler,Bjørn Munro Jenssen,Andy M. Booth +8 more
TL;DR: Filtration using a hydrophilic polytetrafluoroethylene filter membrane (0.1 μm) was found to be a simple and precise technique for the determination of phenanthrene adsorption to a range of CNTs, efficiently separating all types of C NTs and exhibiting a good and highly reproducible recovery of Phenanthrene over the concentration range tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biotransformation in water and soil of nitrosamines and nitramines potentially generated from amine-based CO2 capture technology
Odd Gunnar Brakstad,Lisbet Sørensen,Kolbjørn Zahlsen,Kristin Bonaunet,Astrid Hyldbakk,Andy M. Booth +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, Nitrosamines (NSAs) and NAs were identified as possible degradation products from amine-based post-combustion CO2-capture (PCCC).
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of PAH, metabolite and lipid profiling to assess exposure and effects of produced water discharges on pelagic copepods.
Bjørn Henrik Hansen,Lisbet Sørensen,Trond Røvik Størseth,Dag Altin,Susana González,Jørgen Skancke,Marianne Unaas Rønsberg,Trond Nordtug +7 more
TL;DR: This study sampled copepods in an area of the North Sea with high density of oil production platforms discharging produced water and found that PAH body burdens were low compared to laboratory experiments, still, station-specific PAH profiles strongly indicated copepod exposure to PW.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) embryos are highly sensitive to short-term 3,4-dichloroaniline exposure.
Bjørn Henrik Hansen,Julia Farkas,Stefania Piarulli,Silvia Vicario,Bjarne Kvæstad,David R. Williamson,David R. Williamson,Lisbet Sørensen,Emlyn John Davies,Trond Nordtug +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of 3,4-dichloroaniline (3,4DCA) exposure on the yolk-sac larvae of Atlantic cod embryos were investigated.
