Toward a global description of the nucleus-nucleus interaction
Luiz Carlos Chamon,B. V. Carlson,Leandro Gasques,Daniel Pereira,C. de Conti,M. A. G. Alvarez,Mahir S. Hussein,M. A. Cândido Ribeiro,E. S. Rossi,C. P. Silva +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an extensive systematization of theoretical and experimental nuclear densities and of optical potential strengths extracted from heavy-ion elastic scattering data analyses at low and intermediate energies is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
A parameter-free optical potential for the heavy-ion elastic scattering process
M. A. G. Alvarez,Luiz Carlos Chamon,M. S. Hussein,Daniel Pereira,Leandro Gasques,E. S. Rossi,C. P. Silva +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an extensive systematization of nuclear densities, the energy dependence of the bare potential accounted by a model based on the nonlocal nature of the interaction, and the real and imaginary parts of the optical potential assumed to have the same radial shape.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of the elastic scattering of 6He on 208Pb at energies around the Coulomb barrier
A. M. Sánchez-Benítez,A. M. Sánchez-Benítez,D. Escrig,M. A. G. Alvarez,M.V. Andrés,Carmen Angulo,M. J. G. Borge,J. Cabrera,Silvio Cherubini,P. Demaret,J. M. Espino,P. Figuera,M. Freer,J. E. TL;DR: In this article, a semiclassical polarization potential was used to study the effect of the Coulomb dipole polarizability on the elastic scattering of 6 He on 208 Pb at laboratory energies of 14, 16, 18 and 22 MeV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Do halo nuclei follow Rutherford elastic scattering at energies below the barrier? The case of 11Li
M. Cubero,M. Cubero,J. P. Fernández-García,J. P. Fernández-García,M. Rodríguez-Gallardo,L. Acosta,M. Alcorta,M. A. G. Alvarez,M. A. G. Alvarez,M. J. G. Borge,L. Buchmann,C. A. Diget,H. Al Falou,B. R. Shotter,A. C. Shotter,Olof Tengblad,P.L. Walden +29 more
TL;DR: Four-body continuum-discretized coupled-channels calculations, based on a three-body model of the 11Li projectile, are found to explain the measured angular distributions and confirm that the observed reduction is mainly due to the strong Coulomb coupling to the dipole states in the low-lying continuum of 11Li.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of two-proton radioactivity of 19Mg by tracking the decay products.
I. Mukha,K. Sümmerer,L. Acosta,M. A. G. Alvarez,E. Casarejos,A. Chatillon,D. Cortina-Gil,J. M. Espino,A. S. Fomichev,J. E. García-Ramos,Hans Geissel,Joaquín Gómez-Camacho,L. V. Grigorenko,J. Hoffmann,O. Kiselev,A. A. Korsheninnikov,N. Kurz,Yu. A. Litvinov,Ismael Martel,C. Nociforo,Wolfgang Ott,M. Pfützner,C. Rodriguez-Tajes,E. Roeckl,M. Stanoiu,Helmut Weick,P. J. Woods +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, the trajectories of the decay products were measured by using tracking microstrip detectors which allowed to reconstruct the $2p$-decay vertices and fragment correlations.
