Journal ArticleDOI

Giant magnetoresistance in the Ge-rich magnetocaloric compound, Gd5(Si0.1Ge0.9)4

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the zero-field electrical resistivity in the temperature range 5-295 K and magnetoresistance in magnetic fields of up to 12-T of Gd 5 (Si 0.1 Ge 0.9 ) 4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxygen isotope effects in(La0.5Nd0.5)2/3Ca1/3MnO3: Relevance of the electron-phonon interaction to the phase segregation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the oxygen isotope effect on charge-ordered (CO) and paramagnetic phase below 210 K, but the relative percentage of both phases strongly depends on the isotope mass.
Journal ArticleDOI

Induced cell toxicity originates dendritic cell death following magnetic hyperthermia treatment

TL;DR: It is shown that the cell death observed following AMF exposure, specifically that of MNP-loaded dendritic cells (DCs) in culture, was caused by the release of toxic agents into the cell culture supernatants and not due to a macroscopic temperature increase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of the high Curie temperature in Sr{sub 2}CrReO{sub 6}

TL;DR: A detailed neutron diffraction study of half-metallic double perovskites has been carried out in this article, where the authors discuss the origin of the anomalously high temperature in terms of structural and band hybridization effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence of unquenched Re orbital magnetic moment in AA′FeReO6 double perovskites

TL;DR: In this article, the spin and orbital magnetic moments of rhenium in AA′FeReO6 double perovskites (A,A′=Ba, Sr, and Ca) have been directly probed employing x-ray magnetic circular dichroism at the Re L2,3 edges.
