TL;DR: These data provide the most sensitive direct detection constraints on WIMP-proton spin-dependent scattering to date, with significant sensitivity at low W IMP masses for spin-independent WIMp-nucleon scattering.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the PICO Collaboration thanks SNOLAB for their exceptional laboratory space and technical support, and also thanks Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Contract No. DE-AC02-07CH11359) and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for their support.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct measurement of the bubble-nucleation energy threshold in a CF 3 I bubble chamber
E. Behnke,T. Benjamin,S. J. Brice,Daniel Broemmelsiek,J. I. Collar,P. S. Cooper,M. B. Crisler,C. E. Dahl,C. E. Dahl,Drew Fustin,J. Hall,C. Harnish,Ilan Levine,W. H. Lippincott,T. Moan,T. Nania,R. Neilson,E. J. Ramberg,A. E. Robinson,M. Ruschman,Andrew Sonnenschein,E. Vázquez-Jáuregui,Ryan Rivera,Lorenzo Uplegger +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the energy threshold and efficiency for bubble nucleation from iodine recoils in a CF3I bubble chamber in the energy range of interest for a dark matter search were measured by observing the elastic scattering of 12 GeV/c negative pions.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The PICASSO and COUPP collaborations use superheated liquid detectors to search for cold dark matter through direct detection of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs).
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal conductance characterization of a pressed copper rope strap between 0.13 K and 10 K
TL;DR: In this article, thermal conductance data of a copper braid strap measured using the two-heater one-thermometer method is presented. But, the braid thermal conductivity dominates the strap conductance resulting in a near-linear dependence with temperature.
