Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical composition and antifungal properties of essential oils of three Pistacia species.

TL;DR: The chemical composition of essential oils obtained from the leaves of Pistacia vera, Pistacia terebinthus, Pistacia lentiscus and the resin of Pistacias lentiscUS were analyzed and alpha-Pinene, beta-pinene, limonene, terpinen-4-ol andalpha-terpineol were found to be the major components of antifungal activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of antioxidant phenolic compounds from the aerial parts of Hypericum hyssopifolium L. by activity-guided fractionation.

TL;DR: Although, I3,II8-biapigenin and hypericin were able to show highest antioxidant activity, they had the lowest DPPH radical-scavenging activities, it can be suggested that these compounds may be used as potential antioxidants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant, anticholinesterase and antimicrobial constituents from the essential oil and ethanol extract of Salvia potentillifolia

TL;DR: In this paper, the essential oil of Salvia potentillifolia was analyzed by GC and GC-MS, and 123 components were detected in both hydrodistilled and steam-distilled oils, a- and b-pinenes being major compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the antioxidant activity of the essential oil and methanol extract of Marrubium globosum subsp. globosum (lamiaceae) by three different chemical assays.

TL;DR: A positive correlation was observed between the antioxidant activity potential and total phenolic level of the extracts and total flavonoid content was found equal for the both sub-fractions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of the volatile oils of Hypericum scabrum L. and Hypericum perforatum L. from Turkey

TL;DR: The composition of the volatile oils obtained from the aerial parts of Hypericum scabrum L. and H. perforatum L. was analyzed by GC and GC-MS as discussed by the authors.
