Journal ArticleDOI
Distant lymph node metastases in esophageal cancer: impact of endoscopic ultrasound-guided biopsy.
Marc Giovannini,Geneviève Monges,Jean-François Seitz,V. Moutardier,D. Bernardini,Pascal Thomas,G. Houvenaeghel,Jean-Robert Delpero,Roger Giudicelli,Pierre Fuentes +9 more
TL;DR: EUS-guided biopsy of distant lymph nodes was indicated in 20% of patients with esophageal cancers, and the biopsy results led to upgrading of the tumor stage in about 80% of cases and influenced the treatment decision in about 60%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome profiling of pancreatic adenocarcinoma
David Jérémie Birnbaum,José Adélaïde,Emilie Mamessier,Pascal Finetti,Arnaud Lagarde,Geneviève Monges,Frédéric Viret,Anthony Gonçalves,Olivier Turrini,Jean-Robert Delpero,Juan L. Iovanna,Marc Giovannini,Daniel Birnbaum,Max Chaffanet +13 more
TL;DR: Novel biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets in pancreatic adenocarcinoma are identified by using 244 K high‐resolution array‐comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) and frequent genetic gains on chromosome arms are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
The learning curve for the laparoscopic approach to conservative mesorectal excision for rectal cancer: lessons drawn from a single institution's experience.
Thierry Bege,Bernard Lelong,Benjamin Esterni,Olivier Turrini,Jérôme Guiramand,Daniel Francon,Djamel Mokart,Gilles Houvenaeghel,Marc Giovannini,Jean Robert Delpero +9 more
TL;DR: Despite surgeons' early command of the conversion rate, the learning process for LCME affects morbidity for the first 50 patients operated on, but does not adversely affect the oncological results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feasibility and yield of a novel 22-gauge histology EUS needle in patients with pancreatic masses: A multicenter prospective cohort study
Alberto Larghi,Julio Iglesias-Garcia,Jan Werner Poley,Geneviève Monges,Maria Chiara Petrone,Guido Rindi,Ihab Abdulkader,Paolo Giorgio Arcidiacono,Guido Costamagna,Katharina Biermann,Erwan Bories,Claudio Doglioni,J. Enrique Domínguez-Muñoz,Cesare Hassan,Marco J. Bruno,Marc Giovannini +15 more
TL;DR: EUS-FNB was technically feasible in 98 % of patients with a solid pancreatic mass and the apparently low negative predictive value is likely to be improved by increasing the number of needle passes.
Journal ArticleDOI
EUS-guided Versus Percutaneous Gallbladder Drainage: Isn't It Time to Convert?
Amy Tyberg,Monica Saumoy,Enrique Vazquez Sequeiros,Marc Giovannini,Everson L.A. Artifon,Anthony Yuen Bun Teoh,Jose Nieto,Amit P. Desai,Nikhil A. Kumta,Monica Gaidhane,Reem Z. Sharaiha,Michel Kahaleh +11 more
TL;DR: EUS-GLB is safe and efficacious, with comparable technical and clinical success rates and no difference in adverse events, and offers a potential cost-saving benefit and morbidity benefit by demonstrating a decreased number of repeat interventions.
