A European test of pesticide-leaching models: methodology and major recommendations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the methodology and major conclusions of a test of pesticide-leaching models, including water, solute, heat, and pesticides, through the soil profile.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mitigation of agricultural nonpoint-source pesticide pollution in artificial wetland ecosystems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the efficiency of ecological bioengineering methods using different artificial wetland (AW) prototypes throughout Europe, and optimized physical and biological processes to mitigate agricultural non-point-source pesticide pollution in AW ecosystems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Root Uptake and Xylem Translocation of Pesticides from Different Chemical Classes

TL;DR: In this paper, a pressure-chamber technique was used to study the root uptake and xylem translocation of some fungicides, herbicides and an insecticide from different chemical classes in detopped soybean roots.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bioavailability and degradation of phenanthrene in compost amended soils

TL;DR: The results suggest that compost induces the degradation in soils of easily degradable compounds such as phenanthrene, when the proper bacteria are in the compost; more resistant xenobiotics may instead be trapped by the compost organic matter, thus becoming less available.
