Oxygen Evolution Reaction on La1-xSrxCoO3 Perovskites: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Study of Their Structural, Electronic, and Electrochemical Properties
Xi Cheng,Emiliana Fabbri,Maarten Nachtegaal,Ivano E. Castelli,Mario El Kazzi,Raphael Haumont,Nicola Marzari,Thomas J. Schmidt,Thomas J. Schmidt +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the alignment of the O 2p valence bands and the unoccupied Co 3d conduction bands improves the conductivity of the La1-xSrxCoO3 perovskite series.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry Study of the Interface of xLi2MnO3·(1–x)LiMO2 (M = Ni, Co, and Mn) Material as a Positive Electrode in Li-Ion Batteries
TL;DR: In this paper, differential electrochemical mass spectrometry was employed to follow volatile species developed during cycling. And the presence of O2 was confirmed to enhance the reactivity of Li2MnO3 domains.
Journal ArticleDOI
A greener route to photoelectrochemically active PbS nanoparticles
Javeed Akhtar,M. Azad Malik,Paul O'Brien,K. G. U. Wijayantha,R. Dharmadasa,Samantha J. O. Hardman,Darren M. Graham,Ben F. Spencer,Ben F. Spencer,Stuart Stubbs,Wendy R. Flavell,David J. Binks,Fausto Sirotti,Mario El Kazzi,Mathieu G. Silly +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cheap and more environmentally friendly method for the synthesis of high quality PbS nanoparticles in olive oil at 60 °C has been developed, where carefully controlling the conditions of reactions leads to nanoparticles with well-defined sizes, and band gaps between 1.72 and 0.88 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Understanding the Interaction of the Carbonates and Binder in Na-Ion Batteries: A Combined Bulk and Surface Study
Leonie O. Vogt,Mario El Kazzi,Erik J. Berg,Sofía Pérez Villar,Petr Novák,Claire Villevieille +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) in Na-ion batteries and its influence on the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fluorinated ether electrolyte with controlled solvation structure for high voltage lithium metal batteries
Yan Ming Zhao,Tianhong Zhou,Timur Ashirov,Mario El Kazzi,Claudia Cancellieri,Lars P. H. Jeurgens,Jang Wook Choi,Ali Coşkun +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a new solvent, 2,2-dimethoxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-dioxolane (DTDL), was proposed to combine cyclic fluorinated ether with a linear ether segment to simultaneously achieve high voltage stability and tune lithium ion solvation ability and structure.
