Modulation of Innate and Adaptive Immune Responses by Tofacitinib (CP-690,550)
Kamran Ghoreschi,Michael I. Jesson,Xiong Li,Jamie L. Lee,Sarbani Ghosh,Jason W. Alsup,James D. Warner,Masao Tanaka,Scott M. Steward-Tharp,Massimo Gadina,Craig J. Thomas,John C. Minnerly,Chad E. Storer,Timothy P. LaBranche,Zaher A. Radi,Martin E. Dowty,Richard D. Head,Debra M. Meyer,Nandini Kishore,John J. O'Shea +19 more
TL;DR: In a model of established arthritis, CP-690,550 rapidly improved disease by inhibiting the production of inflammatory mediators and suppressing STAT1-dependent genes in joint tissue through a mechanism likely involving the inhibition of STAT1 signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proposal for a new clinical entity, IgG4-positive multiorgan lymphoproliferative syndrome: analysis of 64 cases of IgG4-related disorders
Yasufumi Masaki,Lingli Dong,Lingli Dong,Nozomu Kurose,Kazuko Kitagawa,Yuko Morikawa,Motohisa Yamamoto,Hiroki Takahashi,Yasuhisa Shinomura,Kohzoh Imai,Takako Saeki,Atsushi Azumi,Shinji Nakada,Eiji Sugiyama,Shoko Matsui,Tomoki Origuchi,Susumu Nishiyama,Isao Nishimori,Takayuki Nojima,Kazunori Yamada,Mitsuhiro Kawano,Yoh Zen,Masahiko Kaneko,Kana Miyazaki,Kazuo Tsubota,Katsumi Eguchi,Kouichi Tomoda,Toshioki Sawaki,Takafumi Kawanami,Masao Tanaka,Toshihiro Fukushima,Susumu Sugai,Hisanori Umehara +32 more
TL;DR: There are considerable clinical and pathological differences between IgG4+MOLPS and SS, and based on the clinical features and good response to glucocorticoids, a new clinical entity is proposed: IgG 4+MolPS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interleukin-27 Priming of T Cells Controls IL-17 Production In trans via Induction of the Ligand PD-L1
Kiyoshi Hirahara,Kamran Ghoreschi,Xiang-Ping Yang,Hayato Takahashi,Arian Laurence,Golnaz Vahedi,Giuseppe Sciumè,Aisling O’Hara Hall,Christopher D. Dupont,Loise M. Francisco,Qian Chen,Masao Tanaka,Yuka Kanno,Hong-Wei Sun,Arlene H. Sharpe,Christopher A. Hunter,John J. O'Shea +16 more
TL;DR: A suppressive activity of IL-27 is identified, by which CD4(+) T cells can restrict differentiation of Th17 cells in trans through a PD-1-PD-L1 interaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase antibodies in clinical course prediction of interstitial lung disease complicated with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies.
Hajime Yoshifuji,Takao Fujii,Shio Kobayashi,Yoshitaka Imura,Yoshimasa Fujita,Daisuke Kawabata,Takashi Usui,Masao Tanaka,Sonoko Nagai,Hisanori Umehara,Tsuneyo Mimori +10 more
TL;DR: Screening of anti-ARS may be useful to predict late-onset myopathy in ILD-preceding patients and to predict the clinical course of ILD in PM/DM patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leptin inhibits stress-induced apoptosis of T lymphocytes
Yoshimasa Fujita,M. Murakami,Yoshihiro Ogawa,Hiroaki Masuzaki,Masao Tanaka,Shoichi Ozaki,Kazumasa Nakao,Tsuneyo Mimori +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that continuous injection of leptin prevents the reduction in lymphocyte numbers normally observed in fasted and steroid‐injected mice, and up‐regulation of the bcl‐xL gene is observed as a result of signal transduction via leptin receptors on lymphocytes.
