Journal ArticleDOI
The chlamydia knowledge, awareness and testing practices of Australian general practitioners and practice nurses: survey findings from the Australian Chlamydia Control Effectiveness Pilot (ACCEPt)
Rebecca Lorch,Jane S Hocking,Meredith Temple-Smith,Matthew Law,Anna Yeung,Anna Wood,Alaina Vaisey,Basil Donovan,Christopher K Fairley,John M. Kaldor,Rebecca Guy +10 more
TL;DR: The authors' survey reveals gaps in chlamydia knowledge and management among GPs and PNs that may be contributing to low testing rates in general practice and the ACCEPt intervention is well targeted to address these and support clinicians in increasing testing rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) event rates in HIV-positive persons at high predicted CVD and CKD risk: A prospective analysis of the D:A:D observational study
Mark A. Boyd,Mark A. Boyd,Amanda Mocroft,Lene Ryom,Antonella d'Arminio Monforte,Caroline A. Sabin,Wafaa El-Sadr,Camilla Ingrid Hatleberg,Stéphane De Wit,Rainer Weber,Eric Fontas,Andrew N. Phillips,Fabrice Bonnet,Peter Reiss,Jens D Lundgren,Matthew Law +15 more
TL;DR: The results further encourage clinicians to prioritise addressing modifiable risks for CVD and CKD in HIV-positive people with substantially greater risks compared with those at low predictedrisk for both outcomes, and compared to those at high predicted risk for only CVD or CKD events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rates of non-aids defining cancers in people with aids: 8
Journal ArticleDOI
Longitudinal analysis of the associations between antiretroviral therapy, viraemia and immunosuppression with lipid levels: the D:A:D study
David Kamara,Colette Smith,Lene Ryom,Peter Reiss,Martin Rickenbach,Andrew N. Phillips,Amanda Mocroft,Stéphane De Wit,Matthew Law,Antonella d'Arminio Monforte,François Dabis,Christian Pradier,Jens D Lundgren,Caroline A. Sabin +13 more
TL;DR: TG, TC and HDL-C levels, which generally improved over time, are dependent on ART, viraemia and, to a lesser extent, immunosuppression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating the number of people who inject drugs and syringe coverage in Australia, 2005-2016.
TL;DR: Despite Australia's high syringe coverage by international standards, the number of syringes distributed is likely to be only narrowly meeting demand and it is critical that needle syringe programs be provided with sufficient resources to continue their role as the key intervention required to prevent HIV and HCV transmission among PWID.
