Journal ArticleDOI
Necessary and sufficient condition for absolute stability of neural networks
TL;DR: For a neural circuit of the Hopfield type with a symmetric connection matrix T, the negative semidefiniteness of T is a necessary and sufficient condition for absolute stability as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mucilaginous aggregates in the northern Adriatic in the period 1999-2002: Typology and distribution
Robert Precali,Michele Giani,Mauro Marini,Federica Grilli,Carla Rita Ferrari,Osvin Pečar,Elio Paschini +6 more
TL;DR: The spatial and temporal distributions of different types of visible mucilaginous aggregates were investigated monthly by underwater video cameras in the northern Adriatic from June 1999 to July 2002, and shows that higher concentrations of small aggregates occur in the more productive coastal waters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ostreopsis cf. ovata bloom in the northern Adriatic Sea during summer 2009: Ecology, molecular characterization and toxin profile
Stefano Accoroni,Tiziana Romagnoli,Federica Colombo,Chiara Pennesi,Cristina Gioia Di Camillo,Mauro Marini,Cecilia Battocchi,Patrizia Ciminiello,Carmela Dell'Aversano,Emma Dello Iacovo,Ernesto Fattorusso,Luciana Tartaglione,Antonella Penna,Cecilia Totti +13 more
TL;DR: Toxin analysis performed by high resolution liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry revealed a high total toxin content (up to 75 pg cell(-1)), including putative palytoxin and all the ovatoxins known so far.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seasonal variability and Po River plume influence on biochemical properties along western Adriatic coast
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the Po plume on the northern Adriatic Sea was observed during two seasons in 2003 under distinct physical forcing regimes, and salinity alone was the best discriminator of water mass variability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of bora wind on physical and biogeochemical properties of stratified waters in the northern Adriatic
Alfredo Boldrin,Sandro Carniel,Michele Giani,Mauro Marini,F. Bernardi Aubry,Alessandra Campanelli,Federica Grilli,Aniello Russo +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution meteorological, hydrodynamic and wave model outputs were related to in situ observations of hydrologic parameters, dissolved nutrients and oxygen, suspended matter biogeochemical properties, and phytoplankton.
