Journal ArticleDOI

Metallicity of Ca2Cu6P5 with Single and Double Copper-Pnictide Layers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report thermodynamic and transport properties, and also theoretical calculations, for Cu-based compound Ca2Cu6P5 and compare with CaCu(2-x)P2, showing that both materials have temperatureindependent magnetic susceptibility and show metallic behavior with no evidence of either magnetic ordering or superconductivity down to 1.8 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Simple Route to the Synthesis of Pt Nanobars and the Mechanistic Understanding of Symmetry Reduction.

TL;DR: A facile route to the preparation of Pt nanobars with aspect ratios tunable up to 2.1 is reported by simply reducing a Pt (IV) precursor in N,N -dimethylformamide (DMF) at 160 °C in the presence of poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP).
Journal ArticleDOI

Frank dislocation loops in HgTe∕CdTe superlattices on CdTe∕Si(211)B substrates

TL;DR: In this article, the defect structures in HgTe∕CdTe superlattices (SLs) on CdTe ∼Si(211)B substrates grown by molecular-beam epitaxy have been investigated using (scanning) transmission electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase-Controlled Synthesis of Ru Nanocrystals via Template-Directed Growth: Surface Energy versus Bulk Energy.

TL;DR: This paper showed that the crystal phase taken by the deposited metal depends on the lateral size of face-centered cubic (fcc)-Pd nanoplate templates with 12 nm plates giving fcc-Ru while 18-26 nm plates result in hexagonal closed-packed (hcp)-Ru.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructural evolution of protective La–Cr–O films studied by transmission electron microscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructural evolution of La-CrO3 thin films deposited by radio frequency (RF)-magnetron sputtering on stainless steel substrates was studied.
