Journal ArticleDOI

Interplay between defect propagation and surface hydrogen in silicon nanowire kinking superstructures.

TL;DR: The authors' experiments show that adsorbed hydrogen atoms are responsible for selecting ⟨211⟩-oriented growth and indicate that a twin boundary imparts structural coherence, and provide important insight into the role of surface chemical bonding during vapor-liquid-solid synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solution-Phase Synthesis of PdH0.706 Nanocubes with Enhanced Stability and Activity toward Formic Acid Oxidation.

TL;DR: In this article , a facile method for the complete transformation of Palladium nanocubes into a stable phase made of PdH0.706 by treating them with aqueous hydrazine at a concentration as low as 9.2 mM was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ferroelectric Self-Poling, Switching, and Monoclinic Domain Configuration in BiFeO3Thin Films

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of self-poling on the monoclinic domain configuration and the switching properties of the two polymorphs of BiFeO3 (R′ and T′) in thin films grown on LaAlO3 substrates with slightly different La0.3Sr0.7MnO3 buffer layers was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation of Dodecanethiol-Capped Gold Catalysts for CO Oxidation by Treatment with KMnO4 or K2MnO4

TL;DR: In this paper, Dodecanethiol-capped gold nanoparticles were deposited onto SiO2, TiO2 or carbon support, and the resulting catalysts were treated by aqueous KMnO4 or K2MnO 4 followed by treatment in O2-He at 300°C.
