Journal ArticleDOI

Transport of Amino Acid-Related Compounds Mediated by L-Type Amino Acid Transporter 1 (LAT1): Insights Into the Mechanisms of Substrate Recognition

TL;DR: LAT1-mediated [(14)C]phenylalanine uptake was strongly inhibited in a competitive manner by aromatic-amino acid derivatives including L-dopa, alpha-methyldopa, melphalan, triiodothyronine, and thyroxine, whereas phenylalanin methyl ester, N-methyl phenylAlanine, dopamine, tyramine, carbidopa, and droxidopa did not inhibit LAT1- mediated uptake.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanism of inhibition of P-glycoprotein mediated efflux by vitamin E TPGS: influence on ATPase activity and membrane fluidity.

TL;DR: Transport studies indicate that ATPase inhibition is an essential factor in the inhibitory mechanism of TPGS 1000 on cellular efflux pumps.
Journal ArticleDOI

Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry method development for drug metabolism studies: Examining lipid matrix ionization effects in plasma.

TL;DR: A convenient new method, which is referred to as "in-source multiple reaction monitoring" (IS-MRM), for detecting GPCho's during LC-MS/MS method development and probe ionization matrix effects in plasma samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

L-type amino acid transporter 1 inhibitors inhibit tumor cell growth.

TL;DR: KYT‐0353 appears to have potential as a novel anti‐tumor agent, presumably via selective in vivol‐type amino acid transporter 1 inhibition, according to in vitro and in vivo studies.
