Endemic shearwaters are increasing in the Mediterranean in relation to factors that are closely related to human activities
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimate global population trends of abundance of two endemic migratory seabird species breeding in the Mediterranean Sea, Balearic and Scopoli's shearwaters, from migration counts at the Strait of Gibraltar.

Multiple Generation of Bengali Static Signatures
Moises Diaz,Sukalpa Chanda,Miguel Ferrer,Chayan Kr. Banerjee,Anirban Majumdar,Cristina Carmona-Duarte,Parikshit Acharya,Umapada Pal +7 more
TL;DR: A method based on motor equivalence model theory to generate static Bengali signatures to approach the intra and inter-personal variability of the Bengali-100 Static Signature DB from a performance-based validation is proposed.

TL;DR: It is hypothesized that combining selective pulmonary vasodilation by NO inhalation, with HPV enhancement by infusing the NOS inhibitor N o-nitro-Larginine methyl ester (LNA) might reduce V A /Q mismatch and improve gas exchange and pulmonary hemodynamics in a lavage model of ARDS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transporting Biodiversity Using Transmission Power Lines as Stepping-Stones?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted an experiment to determine if electric power transmission lines could be transformed in a continental network of biodiversity reserves for small animals and found that modifying the base of the electric towers would potentially facilitate the connection of fragmented populations.
