ESICM LIVES 2016: part one

L. J. Bos, +2082 more
TL;DR: Metabonomics identifies early molecular changes associated with progression into postoperative hypoxemia in cardiac surgery patient: a human model that can provide new insights into the pathophysiology of acute lung injury and potentially identify specific biomarkers of lung tissue injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Evaluation of High Resolution Hand-Prints

TL;DR: A novel method is introduced for the generation of high-resolution synthetic hand-print images that mimics the nature of the corresponding biometric data and their main degrees of freedom and is useful for algorithm training/optimization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Steric effects on the anation reactions of pentaamine complexes of Co(III)

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the size of the amines on anation reactions of these complexes were studied at different temperatures and at I = 1.0 M. All results are interpreted on the basis of an I d mechanism, and the variation of the activation entropy values for the same entering ligand on increasing the amine size confirms this assumption.

Supplementary feeding and the population dynamic of the spanish imperial eagle

TL;DR: The idea that breeding populations and their fecundity are the main target for conservation plans must be revised, according to most recent advances on population dynamics of long-lived species and structure of populations.

Analysis of reservoir selection by wintering ospreys (Pandion haliaetus haliaetus) in Andalusia, Spain: A potential tool for reintroduction

TL;DR: Se estima que 136 parejas nidifican en unos 160 acantilados donde F. peregrinus estuvo presente en the filtima d& cada, pero el nfimero real es seguramente mayor y podria aumentar a 250-400 pareja dada la estimaci6n of the d•sponibilidad de h•bitat apropiado.
