Journal ArticleDOI
Functionalized fullerenes mediate photodynamic killing of cancer cells: Type I versus Type II photochemical mechanism.
Pawel Mroz,Anna Pawlak,Minahil Satti,Haeryeon Lee,Tim Wharton,Hariprasad Gali,Tadeusz Sarna,Michael R. Hamblin,Michael R. Hamblin +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that certain functionalized fullerenes have potential as novel PDT agents and phototoxicity may be mediated both by superoxide and by singlet oxygen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protease-Stable Polycationic Photosensitizer Conjugates between Polyethyleneimine and Chlorin(e6) for Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Photoinactivation
George P. Tegos,Masahiro Anbe,Masahiro Anbe,Changming Yang,Tatiana N. Demidova,Tatiana N. Demidova,Minahil Satti,Pawel Mroz,Sumbul Janjua,Faten Gad,Michael R. Hamblin,Michael R. Hamblin +11 more
TL;DR: A novel set of second-generation polycationic conjugates between chlorin(e6) and three molecular forms of polyethyleneimine (PEI) suggests these molecules may be superior to polylysine-PS conjugate for photodynamic therapy of localized infections.
